Klaus Hoffmann commands the ailing U-330 on a secret dive, but not all the men trust him. Hannie wants to take Hertha in. Staff officer Heinrich Gluck has to make a decision.

Commander Buchner reaches the coast of Naples. Klaus Hoffmann is also on his way there. His sister Hannie meets twelve-year-old Hertha.

Robert Ehrenberg supports the resistance within the Navy and gives Klaus Hoffmann a clue. Bobby Schulz is on his trail. U-949 comes under fire in the Strait of Gibraltar.

August 1943: Franz Buchner is in action with the U-949. An informer on board divides his crew. The Hoffmann family gathers in Berlin to attend the premiere of a film about Klaus.

The U-949 reaches Portugal and unloads the gold. When Ehrenberg returns to Kiel, he finds Greta with her husband again. Klaus Hoffmann and Forster reach their goal through blackmail.

Klaus Hoffmann pursues the German agent Weiss and discovers valuable information. U-949 is under heavy fire from Swinburne's destroyer - until Commander Buchner dares a manoeuvre.

After a bomb explosion, Forster and Klaus Hoffmann hide with the Portuguese Ines, while Wilhelm Hoffmann arrives in Lisbon. U-949 is heading for their new destination.

U-949 meets a Japanese boat to take over heavy cargo - gold. Wilhelm Hoffmann receives an invitation to Lisbon. Forster betrays Klaus Hoffmann under duress what he knows.

Swinburne's destroyer sinks two submarines on the Atlantic, then he hunts U-949. Forster observes a secret meeting between consul Gruber and the American Gardiner.

After Wilhelm Hoffmann learned the truth about his son Klaus, he gets into a fight with Hannie. Ehrenberg has to say goodbye to Greta. In Portugal, Forster's plan gets out of hand.

While Swinburne sets sail with a technologically upgraded ship, Ehrenberg makes a serious decision in Kiel. Forster has to create a traitor out of the country.

The U-949 is in danger during a test drive due to Commander Buchner's orders. Forster comes across a trail in a casino and makes the acquaintance of the German Bettina Gruber.

Forster is investigating the village man murder case in Lisbon. In Kiel, the new sailors of the U-949 get into battle. Royal Navy captain Swinburne is travelling to Liverpool for his son's funeral service.

Spring 1943: L.I. Ehrenberg prepares submarines for use in Kiel. Minors are recruited as crews. Wilhelm Hoffmann attends a reception at the request of his son-in-law.

Despite injury, Hoffmann made it to the agreed meeting point. In order to save the gold leaf from being transported, Margot implements her risky plan. U-822 approaches the US coast.

Wrangel and von Reinhartz have a dramatic battle on the Atlantic. Margot is horrified by a betrayal. The seriously injured Hoffmann asks Cassandra to leave the city with him.

Wrangel and von Reinhartz struggle with their teams at sea. Hoffmann's situation in New York comes to a head. The Jewish families from La Rochelle are due to be transported to Poland.

Wrangel finally has U-822 in sight and now demands everything from his men. Von Reinhartz completely loses the backing of his team. Margot desperately tries to save Elias.

In order to raise the mood on board, von Reinhartz invites his team to swim�with fatal consequences. Hoffmann trusts Cassandra. Margot finds an important ally in Duval.

While chasing U-822, Wrangel's frustration with his crew grows. Greenwood extorts more information from Hoffmann. Margot is stuck with the gold leaf in St. R�my.

Wrangel starts pursuing his rival Reinhartz with U-612. In New York, lawyer Berger receives information that could enable Hoffmann's return trip. Forster searches for the gold leaf.

December 1942: Submarine captain Johannes von Reinhartz receives an order for a secret mission. Simone is risking her life for a Jewish family. Hoffmann seeks justice and wants to leave New York.

The U-boat crew struggle with recent events and what lies ahead. A revelation in La Rochelle infuriates Forster spelling bad news for Simone.

Forster reveals to Simone that U-612 has gone missing. Meanwhile, the resistance endanger the innocent to further their cause.

Things look bleak for the crew of U-612, as they desperately try to work out their next move. Simone adjusts to her new position between Carla and Forster.

A surprise new arrival takes Greenwood's place, causing a divide. Plus, Carla and Simone grow closer and a resistance fighter arrives at the safe house.

Unity on U-612 has crumbled and Hoffman and Tennstedt's continued conflict could jeopardise the mission. On land, Simone wrestles with a difficult choice.

Tennstedt and Hoffmann continue to butt heads aboard U-612, while rebel Carla Monroe plans a mission in La Rochelle.

Hoffmann insists on further training despite the crew's desire to head to battle. In La Rochelle, Simone pieces together the previous night's events.

An inexperienced U-boat crew are plunged into a perilous secret mission, while new translator Simone starts work at the base.
